As important as it is to grow your business, it’s just as important to take care of the backend of your business. The common thread that keeps everything together is your business banking. Every business, even freelancers and solopreneurs, should keep personal and business finances separated for legal and tax purposes. That’s where Found can help.
Found offers an all-in-one banking solution for freelancers and self-employed solopreneurs. You do not need an LLC to open an account. Sole proprietors can open a business checking account using their social security number. Found offers amazing features that complement the modern day individual business owners like a business checking account, built-in tax-planning, invoice generator, bookkeeping, and more. The value of banking with Found is that everything you need to run your business is in one place!
Features
Found’s suite of banking tools makes it simple for business owners to manage their finances so that they can focus on their business. Manage your finances from a web browser or on your phone!

Business Checking Account
Found offers a business checking account that allows you to separate your personal finances from business finances. What makes Found even better is that there are no required fees! Unlike major banks, there is no minimum balance required and no monthly service fee. It’s easy to sign up for a business checking account. With a little bit of information, you can sign up for an account within minutes! You’ll receive a virtual card immediately and you’ll receive a very elegant Mastercard business debit card in the mail. With unlimited transactions and free ACH transfers, Found is a great option as a solopreneur.
Invoice Generator
Found’s invoicing feature allows business owners to create and send professional invoices for free! Instead of using a third party application to generate invoices, Found’s invoicing feature allows business owners to create and send professional invoices for free! With the invoice feature, you can even see when your invoices are viewed or paid, schedule invoices to be sent, and set up recurring invoices. This frees up your time so you can focus on your business.
Tax Planning
Unless you’re an accountant, you probably don’t enjoy planning for taxes. Found’s built-in software makes it easy to stay organized for tax time. Users can categorize expenses and save receipts directly from your phone! You can see your tax estimate in real-time as you categorize expenses on your business and even auto-save a portion of every income transaction to pay taxes when it’s time.

Bookkeeping
Want to track how your business is doing? The integrated bookkeeping feature tracks your expenses when you use your Found debit card. Many of these business expenses can be auto-recognized as potential write-offs, so you save on taxes. This feature also allows for real-time reporting so you can see how your business is doing. You can even import transactions made outside of your Found debit card too!
Checking Account Pockets
Within your business checking account, business owners can create separate categories of funds, known as “Pockets”, to save for certain things. These can be set up to save for a major capital expense, an emergency fund, or any other goal you want. These funds can be set up to be allocated automatically to each Pocket.

Found Plus
While the above features are all free with an ordinary Found plan, Found does offer a premium plan called Found Plus.
With Found Plus, you get all the features of Found plus additional benefits like:
- 1.5% APY on balances up to $20,000
- Custom tags, rules, and categories for bookkeeping
- Ability to import transactions from Venmo and PayPal
- Ability to important expenses from receipts
- File taxes for free through Found’s partner ColumnTax
- Priority customer support
The Found Plus plan costs $19.99 monthly or $149.99 annually.
Considerations
Found’s business checking account is only available to single-owner businesses. This means that multi-member LLCs and corporations cannot open a Found business checking account at this time.
Also, Found does not offer a credit card at this time. However, their debit card offers rewards similar to credit cards “offers” where you would receive a certain percentage back on purchases made with certain retailers.
My Experience
As a solopreneur, I wanted an all-in-one banking solution to keep track of my business finances in one place. I was really surprised at how integrated the tools were and how seamless the user experience is!
While I considered creating a business bank account with a major bank, I wouldn’t have gotten a lot of value since it doesn’t offer the features that Found does. I would also have to maintain a relatively high balance to avoid the monthly service fees, which Found does not charge.
As I’m taking my solopreneur journey more seriously, I want to see how well my business will perform and be able to track the finances separately from my personal finances, my real estate finances, and my e-commerce business.
By keeping my finances organized, it makes tax time A LOT easier so if you’re a freelancer or a solopreneur, I highly recommend opening a Found business checking account as it’s free to sign up and offers a ton of tools that you’d use at no additional cost!
